A "greenroof" installation in a limestone turn of the century home in Park slope Brooklyn. This is a layer of low-growing, drought-tolerant plants (sedum) that will cover the entire roof serves as insulation for the house and is also good for the environment.. A green roof reduces energy consumption and green house gases, saves money, and cools city temperatures Marni Horwitz of Alive Structures is shown planting the sedum. The house is located on a block that was voted Greenest Block in Brooklyn 2008.
